Usually, in the world of hard rock and heavy metal, covers are pretty much hit or miss. Whenever a rock/metal fan hears a cover of a rock/metal song he/she will either say “that was really good!” or he/she will say “OH MY GOD THAT WAS TERRIBLE!! HOW DARE YOU TRY AND COVER THAT SONG!! WHAT A F****** DISGRACE!! KILL YOURSELF!!” etc etc etc.
My point is, if you’re gonna do a cover of a rock or metal song, you’d better get it right, or fans will come at you like daggers. Some covers are good, some not so much, but very few covers are great. This is one of those rare moments.
