MAYHEM FESTIVAL: Godsmacks Goal: Prove It
"Although Massachusetts-based band Godsmack has sold upward of 7 million records in its career, the hard rock outfit is looking at its summer stint on the Mayhem Festival as a proving ground. "For Godsmack, it's a chance for us to get up in front of a pretty different crowd than what we're used to. If you look at the bill -- Trivium, In Flames, Machine Head, Megadeth, Disturbed -- all of these bands are heavier than us. We're kind of the hard rock band on the tour. We definitely have the metal chug, chug aspect and all that," drummer Shannon Larkin said in a recent telephone interview." Read full article HERE

Was just up front in Tampa and man, Godsmack was intense. You guys never been better. Love the pit and Whatever put it over the top. Hitch-hiked to my first concert 40 years ago with just a dimebag of weed in my pocket and gotta say, this was the best show, best concert experience ever. An old lady thanks you.

I went to the Mayhem Festival in Cincinatti just to see Godsmack only. Paid over face value for the tickets because hey, it's Godsmack. Anyway, was VERY disappointed/shocked that they were not the headliner. They were awesome, but wish they would have played more songs.

We want you to come back to Denver CO so we can see you at another venue. I saw you guys play with BUSH along time ago, and I love your new album The Oracle. We want you back. Love when Sully plays the guitar and then hits those drums, GODSMACK kicked ass! Megadeth and Disturbed sucked, I don't know if it was the heat, but GODSMACK was the best. I have seen Disturbed 3 other times and this time they just didn't cut it. Sully is one HOT man, I couldn't look away from the screen when I saw him and the Base Guitar and the drumer made the beat flow through your body, now thats a heavy metal band!

I didn't miss the Mayhem Fest and out of all 4 of the Headliners Godsmack ran Machinehead, Megadeth and Disturbed off the stage! They need to come back to Denver and be the main headliner like System of a Down was and play at Red Rocks again like when I saw them with Bush between 9 to 10 years ago.
