GODSMACK AND BLACK RIVER COLISEUM TO AID FLOOD VICTIMS

Godsmack and The Black River Coliseum have teamed up in a special promotion to raise money to support three organizations that have provided invaluable assistance during the recent flooding in Southeast Missouri. The weather emergency resulted in the designation of the Coliseum as an emergency shelter for area flood victims and necessitated the rescheduling of the April 30 Godsmack concert to Tuesday, May 10.

An Epiphone Limited Edition Studio Deluxe electric guitar, with alpine white finish and gold hardware, will be played live by Godsmack lead singer Sully Erna during the Poplar Bluff show and will be autographed by all members of the band. The guitar will be raffled with 100% of the proceeds going to the Southeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross, the United Gospel Rescue Mission and the Animal Welfare Alliance. The guitar itself is being donated by K Square, Inc., the St. Louis agency that books shows at the Coliseum.

To a Godsmack fan, the autographed guitar will be a priceless piece of memorabilia.

Coliseum director Randy Mathews remarked on the generosity of area residents. “We talked about food donations, or clothes, toiletries and so forth, but local groups have been so eager to help, we realized none of these items represented a critical need. That’s when the band stepped up to the plate.”

Godsmack band members came up with the idea of the guitar raffle as a tangible way to demonstrate their support for Poplar Bluff and the surrounding area. “We want to do our part to help in any way we can,” Erna said.

“This is a great way to raise much-needed money for some fantastic charities, while offering fans a chance to get something that literally no one else in the world can ever have,” Mathews added.
