Books
I'm hoping that Elly and I aren't the only people here who read, you illiterate shits.
I'm reading a dance of dragons, the fifth book in the game of thrones series.

Re: Books
I'm rereading "Promise Me" by Nancy Brinker, the found of Susan G Komen for The Cure. The book is about her sister, SGK, and how the organization came to be. I needed the motivation for my upcoming walk; it has done the trick. I can't even begin to describe the respect I have for Nancy. I hope to be able to tell her in person some day.

Re: Books
I love a good motivational book.
Looking around I STILL have that dome book by Steven King. The one that is a million pages long that I just can't get into. Or I have some free (usually crappy) books on my iphone.
I have the reading shakes and need a good book fix soon! -
Re: Books
I'm reading "Ghost Rider" by Neil Peart
(yeah, the drummer for RUSH).
It's the tragic story of the deaths of Neil's only child and his wife of 22 years both within a 10 month period. His grief and sorrow cause him to abandon his life and ride his motorcycle 55,000 miles across Canada, through the USA, down to Mexico, all the way to Belize and then back again.
"Ghost Rider" is the summation of the journal that he kept during the entire trip.
It's a gut wrenching and incredible story. -
Re: Books
I read that... loved it!! It helped me through putting my beloved dog down...
I did find he mentioned his meals a lot though. It was such a great read. And now I'm thinking, dammit. I lent it to a co-worker. I asked for it back months later and she said, I'm sure I gave it back to you... umm NO YOU DIDN'T. sigh*
I think I need to re-order it.
It was amazing to read his journey, just amazing....

Re: Books
I bought it the day after Nitro died. It's taken me an entire month to finally feel like I'm ready to read it.

Ok, you will cry, I guarantee it. You don't have to admit it but you will cry.
It will help you, such an amazing read. I can't say anything more cause you're still reading it...
I know it was about his daughter and wife but I cried for Rodney at certain points and it's just amazing how people cope and deal. It was a beautiful read. One of my top 10 books.
Thanks R, I gotta get this book again.
