Books
I'm hoping that Elly and I aren't the only people here who read, you illiterate shits.
I'm reading a dance of dragons, the fifth book in the game of thrones series.

RE: Books
I Thought you started it? oh well, I really didn't find it all that good. I'd read something else too. Pick that up to read when nothing else available. (Sorry Anne)

RE: Books
IMO, don't rush to it lol.
I'm reading Sookie book #11. It's weird as I read #10 in Dec so I kinda forget who is who. But I know I'll catch up. I find them an easy read, as in quick, a couple days to finish. Then, I'm back to the free books from itunes.
My next book I'm waiting on is out in July. Deborah Harkness. All Souls Trilogy- Book 1 is - Discovery of Witches. I enjoyed it. Diana (Witch) with Mathew (Vamp) . It was a good read. So the second of that series is out in July. Shadow of Night.
Then... I'm open to suggestions...

Re: Books
Need some book ideas....preferably free ones on itunes or free somewhere I can download to iphone.
I am bookless for sometime and I've been grabbing free ones from itunes but they.... are not good. I did find a good author... Nicky Charles... Canadian and did 4 books on were's. Those I enjoyed reading, a great read for free too. I read she's working on book 5, which is great. But I can't find anything free that's worth reading.
I don't really want to buy books as I have two I have to save for to buy, and saving for Sully's Avalon DVD and saving for a summer/fall concert incase it happens so I need free to read.....

Re: Books
I've been on a theoretical physics bender lately with books. Currently about half way through The Hidden Reality by Brian Greene. It's the 3rd book in a loose series that started with The Elegant Universe discussing superstring theory, the concept of the multiverse and the search for the Higgs Boson particle.
It's an acquired taste.
crap, I'm supposed to be working. -
Re: Books
Might have to look them up. I can read anything. I'm not picky.. just love to read

you've been watching "The Big Bang Theory" haven't you? -
Re: Books
^ Yes, of course! I did read Brian Greene and had an interest in theoretical physics long before BBT existed though.
Remember the math metal band Voivod? They were my gateway to string theory when I was a teenager. -
Re: Books
eek, that show... trying to get into it because everyone raves about it.... but....

Re: Books
Oh yea, I remember them! Never got to see them though. And for some reason, it makes me pose the following question: Do you remember Loudness?
THUNDER FROM THE EAST! -
Re: Books
*cough, *cough....Loudness... is that a book? no?... then go to the off topic... about anything or everything or to the music thread. (and this was not typed meanly..hehe)

Re: Books
really? REALLY? REALLY? Have you ever known us to stay on topic? On ANY thread?
plfffft! -
Re: Books
No, I don't remember Loudness. I googled the album and the cover seems vaguely familiar though. Will check it out.
I saw Voivod once but I was on acid and can't remember very much about the show other than lot's of swirling lights.
but this is a thread about books.
I read "Enter Night" the Metallica biography by Mick Wall recently as well. It was surprisingly well-written and not at all cringe-worthy (which I fully expected it to be). A really good account of their early days and the bands they came up with. It was able to remind me why they were so damn awesome once; which Some Kind Of Monster did a great job of making me lose sight of. -
Re: Books
I've been reading "Portrait of a Killer" by Patricia Cornwell. It's a modern day forensic look at Jack the Ripper. It's pretty awesome.
Did you guys see that? How I just got RIGHT ON TOPIC like that?
I've got 2 other books waiting for me, but one involves crayons.. -
Re: Books
LMAO...you guys are too funny!!
And i know, since when does it stay on the topic.
Tomorrow... new thread... Friday June 1st - be all , end all.
one place...anything goes....
