WHY, WHY, WHY? TV Commercials

Why are commercials so much louder than the damn show you're watching? I remember years ago that they were to stop doing that.

I'm at work and have the hockey game on in the lounge (I have a fully stocked lounge six feet from me...come on over), and thought I had the volume down low enough. Sure enough, I can't hear the game, but get blasted when a commercial comes on. It's usually those infommercial, as-seen-on-tv type commercials that come on so loud.

HOW RUDE. (hmmm. maybe I need to get that topic going again)
