Cancellation of European Dates

Sat, Jun 23, 2012 at 3:55 PM

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news:

June 23rd, 2012

Godsmack announced today that, due to an unfortunate illness with Sully Erna, the band will be forced to cancel several dates on their current European tour. Erna has been advised by doctors to not sing for the next five days. Their performance at Luxembourg's Rock a Field Festival, The Bataclan in Paris France for Saturday the 23rd, and Zurich Switzerland at Komplex 457 on June 26th will unfortunately all be cancelled. Information regarding ticket refunds can be found at the box office for each venue.

I hope that he will get better soon.
There will be many more concerts- for us the most important thing now is for him to get better

He will be ok after a good week of rest or so... just sux and I feel bad they went all the way there and he got sick. I also feel bad for the fans too who have been waiting for so long... what a bummer! Not much anyone can really do though, no one plans on these things happening.

Yes it is really a pity for the fans that were waiting for so long.
But this is one more reason for Godsmack to come back to Europe.
I'm sure that they will have great time here.

P.S the interview in London was awesome

I hope Sully is already better, hopefully he will feel the positive energy that we send to him. And that's another reason why Godsmack need to come to Europe every year and make a bigger and longer tours! The nature is speaking "make European tours more often"

    Hope he feels better soon.
Sucks to travel all that way, then get sick. Feel sorry for the fans that will not see them but main thing is that Sully feels better to carry on with the tours.

    Oh, God, why...
i've been waiting to see them live for 7 years.
I was traveling from Georgia to Turkey only for them.
I've already bought a festival ticket, bus tickets, spent a lot of money and I have to travel anyway, but... Goddamnit, the festival without Godsmack will be the summer sky without the sun for me..
Fu*k my luck, I'm never going to see them live!
This war and peace inside my head will take me to the end..

And btw just spoke with some stupid guy from Balkan Entertainment who acted silly and insult me, he said that they will not refund tickets. WOW! What a bastard! Now I'm going to make myself a anti-Balkan Entertainment shirt and watch Trivium, Clawfinger, Heavens Shall burn and Within Temptation for a festival price ticket. That's why I hate festivals, I'll never buy ticket before the concert from them again!

oh, we have the same problem. the festivals don't give our money back.
I have to go from Georgia to Turkey in 4 days to see Heaven Shall Burn (which I've never liked), Within Temptation (God, I really don't like this band), Lacuna Coil (I kinda liked them when I was 15) and In Flames (I like them, thanks god), Ugly Kid Joe (bigger thanks god, I love them) and Guns N'Roses (I don't listent to them, but ah well, 'they're legends, they say, it will be fun, they say XDD)

The main reason I was going to Turkey was Godsmack.
Now I'll have to go there but listen the bands that I don't give a f**k about.

This war and peace inside my head will take me to the end..

Wow really sorry to read all this. Having to go to the festival or lose the $$. Try and have a good time watching the other bands. I'm sure Godsmack will make their way back as soon as they can.
It would be a huge disappointment especially when really really looking forward to seeing them.
Let's hope Sully well so he can get back out and tour!

This is painful to watch unfold. I am so sorry that this has happened, not only to Sully (who must be gutted about the entire thing) but also to the fans who's incredible patience has been rewarded with disappointment and financial loss.

I understand that it is standard operating procedure that festivals do not refund money in this situation, but that doesn't change the fact that it totally sucks for the fans.

Bands, managers, festivals, venues, booking agents and promoters have insurance policies which cover their losses in the event of cancellation. Fans do not. It's not fair.

Well many friends I know bought tickets for this festival, and they didn't go to other concerts just to save money and see Godsmack, and now they are more than disappointed. Luckily I got to see all the concerts I wanted this year, but this doesn't make up that I will not go to this festival if it wasn't for Godsmack. But so what now, the life goes on! We need now a solid promise from Godsmack that they will come in the next year and this time make a bigger European tour!

I think they'll make it up to the fans. I agree, what's done is done, but it still hurts. It hurts to read the disappointment. It's nothing the band doesn't feel. I'm sure they were ready to rock the Euro people!
And now anticipation for their return!
